Guided meditation with support, or silent practice? Each approach has its advantages, and there is no universal answer — only the one that suits you at a given moment.
Guided meditation
A voice accompanies you, offers a thread to follow, invites you to bring your attention here then there. It is an ideal entry point when you are starting out, or when the mind is too agitated to settle on its own.
Silent meditation
Here, you settle into silence and simply observe what arises. This approach asks for a little more autonomy, but it opens a deep space, where you learn to stay present without external support.
How to choose?
If you are starting out, or going through a busy period, guided meditation is often more accessible. As the practice settles, silence becomes a precious ally. Many alternate between the two, depending on the day and their needs.
The essential
Whatever the form: what matters is regularity and kindness towards yourself. The method I offer is based on conscious breathing, which helps the mind settle and the body regain its balance. Guided or silent, meditation remains above all a return to yourself.
